In the area of the Salzkammergut between the Dachstein, Totes Gebirge and Grimming massifs lies the ski resort Tauplitz, the altitude of the resort 850 - 2000 m.n.m. It is a medium-sized ski area (43 km of ski trails) known for its snow quality, offers activities for skiers of all levels of skiing skills and, thanks to widely groomed slopes, a generous space for the right carving curves. The slopes around the Schneiderkogel mountain (1,765 m) are an ideal place for freestylers looking for powder or bump riding. Thanks to the good microclimate of the plateau at an altitude of 1,650 m above sea level, the Tauplitz ski resort has plenty of snow until the spring months. Cross-country skiers are offered groomed cross-country trails for skating and classic cross-country skiing with a total length of 130 km. Between the villages of Bad Mitterndorf and Tauplitz is Kulm, the largest natural ski jump in the world, which is also the smallest mammoth. World Cup races are held regularly on Kulm. The atmosphere of the place between the mountain peaks enjoys a long tradition dating back to 1910 and also great popularity of fans. The resort also offers many other sports activities, such as a night-lit toboggan run, snowshoe trips, telemark downhill rides, torchlight skiing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and much more fun for active recreation. For recovery and relaxation, the GrimmingTherme spa in Bad Mitterndorf or the spa in Bad Aussee are available to visitors. |
